Welcome to Year 4!

We hope everyone has had an exciting summer break and is ready for everything year 4 has to offer. This term we will be studying natural disasters.

There is so much learning to be done with our current topic. We will look at where and why different natural disasters occur. We will even attempt to produce some of our own models to help visualise and explain the incredible natural phenomena.

In class, we are reading and studying Varjak Paw. I expect many of the children to fall in love with the story. It is an excellent read filled with exciting twists and powerful themes. Be prepared for children wanting to carry on the series at home.

Welcome to year 4. We like to make sure we are enjoying ourselves whilst learning but ensure we work hard at the same time. We are always kind, gentle and GO FOR GOLD!

Throughout the year in RE we will be learning about a variety of different scriptures and traditions from different cultures. Our work will give insight as to how people around the world are taught to be considerate and compassionate in all they do.

During Autumn we will be taking part in football sessions. Hopefully we can capture the excitement that inspired so many during the world cup in the summer! I look forward to the children trying lots of new and fun activities and sports as the year progresses.

Science this term will focus on our body and our digestive system. Looking at the journey food takes through our body.
