Uniform
We expect the children to come to school dressed smartly for work. We particularly discourage the wearing of sports and leisure clothes and jeans. We would like to think the children show respect for our school by wearing our school uniform therefore we recommend clothes be worn in the following colours:
- navy/black/grey trousers, pinafore or skirt
- white/blue blouse, shirt or polo shirt
- royal blue/navy cardigan, jumper or school sweatshirt - this can be plain and does not need to have the school logo on.
- summer dresses of a school type in blue/white stripes or gingham check.
School sweatshirts/polo shirts/cardigans with our Brockholes logo can be purchased from the Term Time Wear shop at
5, St John’s Road, Huddersfield. The shop is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5.00pm but on Thursday stays open until 8.00 pm. Tel. 01484 453534. Clothing/footwear vouchers are accepted at the shop.
Your child will also need:
- suitable footwear for school and outside games
- large draw string bag for PE kit. We have no space for large fashionable sports bags, they are too big to hang on the pegs in the cloakrooms
- shorts (navy or black)/leotard for PE
- shorts (navy or black)/jogging bottoms/sweatshirt for games (navy or black – no large logos)
- plain white t-shirt for PE
- swimming costume & towel (Yr 5)
ALL clothing and property MUST be named. We ask that the children do not wear jewellery at all for school. We cannot accept responsibility for lost valuables and the Authority does not normally re-imburse parents for the loss of clothing or other personal items. Children are not allowed to wear ANY form of jewellery for PE.
We have lots of pre-loved items of school clothing in school which you can buy for £1 per item - all proceed go towards School Fundraising. Please come to the office to have a look at the clothing.
*** PLEASE NOTE - YOUR CHILD DOES NOT NEED TO HAVE BRANDED UNIFORM ***
